Nestled in the beautiful hills between Sotogrande and Jimena and only a 20 minute drive to the port of Sotogrande in Southern Spain. JCM Polo offers a ‘Taste of Polo’ for riders of all abilities, including beginners, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All of our courses are specifically tailored, whether for the individual rider or group, to maximise on achievement whilst maintaining a lasting sense of enjoyment in the learning process. In our ‘Taste of Polo’ full day course you will quickly learn that playing the “king of sports” is not just a matter of fast riding and ball hitting, but more a subtle mixture of rules, tactics and ball skills.
During your course, you and your guests will be introduced to the basic rules of polo, as stipulated by the Hurlingham Polo Association, and will gain an understanding of effective team play and tactics. You will also be given ample opportunity to practice ball hitting, polo riding, hooking and riding off, on our string of well-schooled polo ponies.
Finally at the end of your course you will be given a certificate of achievement and the opportunity to play your first chukka, which we are sure will prove to be the most exciting, invigorating and addictive experience of your life so far. A taste of polo could well prove to be the start of your own polo career!
